The Australian Breastfeeding Association is a non-profit organisation established in 1964 to encourage and support mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies. The Australian Breastfeeding Association also aims to promote skilled and loving mothering, while creating an awareness of the importance of human milk.

The Association's trained breastfeeding counsellors help thousands of women every year. As mothers themselves they know that breastfeeding is an art to be learned.

Just as women enrol in antenatal classes during pregnancy to learn about childbirth, mothers-to-be find joining the Australian Breastfeeding Association before their baby is born a great way to learn about breastfeeding and parenting.

Research has shown that when fathers learn more about breastfeeding and the health benefits of human milk, there is a better chance of the mother and baby succeeding.
